Juan Egas is no stranger to crossing communication boundaries. He first got a taste of the world of lobbying through his previous work at the Ministry of Agriculture in his native Ecuador, where he developed a passion for connecting stakeholders from different arenas. He currently co-runs a blog on sustainability, and plans on using his Student Reporter skills to make complex scientific ideas more digestible for his readers.
Juan is excited to be at Tropentag because it coincides with his love for broad, interdisciplinary issues such as climate change adaptation, food security and sustainable development. He has just completed his Master’s in Rural Development at the University of Ghent in Belgium, where he majored in Rural Economics and Management. His thesis examined pro-poor agricultural policies in Ecuador.
Look out for Juan's blog posts here in the coming days!
