Student Assistants at Science Forum 2013

When you arrived at the metro station for the Science Forum 2013 in Bonn, you will always be warmly welcomed by two or three young students. Therey are some of the 12 student assistants for the Science Forum, who will tell you where to go. They have many other little tasks, such as preparing the conferece materials, and manging electronic equipment. They have made an invaluable contribution to the success of the conference. Find out that they are actually capable of answering more question than just the way to the restroom! Tobias Gerhartsreiter, studying Geography as a master student at Wuerzburg University, is doing an internship at GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit). He is looking forward to improving skills for a future career at GIZ. reg_6 Vandasue Rodrigues, from Bangalore of India, is a master student in Plant Sciences at University of Bonn. She has been in Germany for two years. She enjoys meeting people from all of the world with different cultural backgrounds. Vandasue  Rodrigues Liann Pliquitt is also a master student in Food and Resources Economics at University of Bonn. She got involved in working at the Science Forum during an internship at GIZ. Anna Seidel is a master student in Agricultural Science at Hohenheim University. She already worked as a student assistant at Tropentag 2013 and arrived at the Science Forum before it started. reg_5 The GIZ supports the idea to involve students to the Science Forum . But this is not their only chance to get involved with working in the sector of agricultural research and development. Master students, who are still looking for a thesis topic can apply for a placement in one of the CG centres, which will be facilitated and supported by the GIZ. For graduates, Dr. Diekmann suggested to have a look at the website of the Centre for International Migration and Development (CIM: www.cimonline.de), which on the one hand offers support for international students in Germany who would like to return and find a good position in their home countries, on the other hand, young professionals can again count on the help of the CIM to find a job at one of the international research centres.
