Tropentag 2010, World food system - A contribution from Europe

The Tropentag is a development-oriented and interdisciplinary conference organised by the North-South Centre of the ETH Zurich. It addresses issues of resource management, environment, agriculture, forestry, fisheries, food, nutrition and related sciences in the context of rural development, sustainable resource use and poverty alleviation worldwide. To increase the outreach of the Tropentag, the North-South Centre – with the support of the Mercator Foundation Switzerland – has selected twelve international and Swiss students to give an account of the event as student reporters. These student reporters will report on the conference on this blog with text, photos and video. During the whole conference, they will summarise the discussions and highlight recent trends, hot topics or emerging issues. In addition, you will find a link to video-streams of the keynote presentations, as well as impressions from the participants and the side events. We hope this blog allows a greater audience to be part of the conference via the World Wide Web. Visit the website during the conference starting 14 September 2010 and follow the conference live!
